Triple pane available
Passive house design require to have triple pane windows and doors. Chablais curtain wall is suitable to be used in a passive house construction.
For this type of European window design, installation is the most important item in order to achieve an efficient construction.
Ventilation in a window wall
A window wall can be made out of multiple fixed window or some opening may be incorporated to bring some ventilation. Tilt and turn window or hopper window are often used for this type of window craftsmanship.
Since European Curtain wall can get up to 80′ tall a smart ventilation design is needed.
Some windows are so tall that you would need to get a ladder to open them.
At Chablais we don’t think so! We can get you what is called a European fanlight opener. It means that a cable will vertically reach the tilt window to open it. The actual lever will be right where your hand can reach!

Fixed windows assembly

Fixed windows assembly has a very narrow sightline to get bigger glass .
Commonly called post and beams window wall, all components are mounted at the site. A lot of engineering is needed to get successful results.
First we determine the needed wood section to carry this heavy glass. Wood dimensions are often related to wind load. This is why some precise calculation needs to be made by Chablais engineer or your local passive house consultant. House location is also important to find out about all specificities.
